So as most of you have likely heard about two weeks ago, yet another new rumor on a "Marvel vs. Capcom 4" made the news headlines.
This one, while not entirely out of the possible realistic scenarios, should be taken with a lot of salt.
For those who haven't heard of the latest MvC4 rumor (and those too lazy to click the link lol), here are the important notes.
NOTE: All information of this rumor comes from an anonymous Reddit user who did not explain how they came across this info. So again, take all this with a lot of salt.
*The newest Marvel vs. Capcom game is in the works and is aiming to release sometime during late 2024.
*While the game would be the seventh mainline installment, it's reportedly going to be called just "Marvel vs. Capcom 4".
*Platforms were not mentioned.
*The roster consists of 42 characters; 21 on the Marvel side and 21 on the Capcom side.
**The Marvel characters are as follows: Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Hulk, Thor, Mr. Fantastic, Daredevil, Black Panther, Star-Lord, Captain Marvel, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Deadpool, Juggernaut, Magneto, Venom, Red Skull, Loki, Doctor Doom, and Thanos.
**The Capcom characters are as follows: Ryu, Luke, Chun-Li, Juri, Mega Man, Zero, Sigma, Leon, Nemisis, Morrigan, Felicia, Dante, V, Strider Hiryu, Grandmaster Meio, Monster Hunter, Asura, Haggar, Arthur, Akira, and Phoenix Wright.
*The rumor notes it's not entirely clear if all of these characters will be in the base game or whether some wll be saved for DLC. There is also the possibility that some characters will be cut.
**It is noted, however, that Capcom is currently planning to have at least two seasons of DLC.
*The game is appearently going for a "modern" and "street" vibe.
*Arc System Works has been approached to help with the game's development.
**(A/N) For those unfamilliar, Arc System Works is best known for their Guilty Gear and Blazblue series, among other IPs.
**(A/N) In addition, the rumor doesn't say anything whether MvC4 will use Arc System Works' known cel-shaded visuals or not that the company has been using in most of their fighting games since Guilty Gear Xrd.
And there you have it, any thoughts?
I'm of course very skeptical to all this to say the least, but stranger things have happened before. We can just wait and see.
