Hadoken[]
Thrusting his palms forward, Ryu releases a blue ki projectile (that closely resembles a fireball) towards his opponent. Sometimes one can see an image of the user's palms inside the ball of ki. Can be used in midair, but flies straight forward like on ground.
In later games outside the Street Fighter series like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Ryu is able to have more than one Hadouken on screen at the same time.

Shinkuu Hadouken[]

Ryu
Debutting as Ryu's very first Super Combo in Super Street Fighter II Turbo, the Shinkuu Hadouken (真空波動拳, lit. Vacuum Surge Fist) is a super powered version of the Hadouken that by definition either a larger and stronger ball of ki (possibly coated with empty air via the name of the attack) in the original Street Fighter games, or in the Marvel crossovers it tends to be a massive beam of blue ki that hits multiple times. In Marvel vs Capcom 3 - onwards Ryu can aim this attack straight up from the ground, and downward from the air by holding up or down during the startup of the attack, and move the beam up or down during the horizontal projectile attack or move the beam left or right during the vertical projectile attack. In Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, this attack can now reflect off the walls and floors during his new Hadou Kakusei, now being dubbed during the mode's duration as the "Shin Hadouken" (真・波動拳, lit. True Surge Fist).

Ren Hadoken[]
The Ren Hadouken (連波動拳, lit. Chain Surge Fist) is one of Ryu's newly developed versions of the Hadouken in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Ryu can fire five short ranged ki blasts in rapid succession from a single Hadouken motion. However, the short range of this attack makes it only reach slightly further than Ken's original Hadouken in the Marvel crossovers.
Baku Hadoken[]
The Baku Hadouken (爆波動拳, lit. Bursting Surge Fist) is one of Ryu's newly developed versions of the Hadouken in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The Ren Hadouken can be charged up to be unleashed as an invisible ki bomb that explodes in the opponent's vicinity a moment later, causing a wallbounce. A possible variation on his Shakunetsu Hadouken (Scorching Heat Surge Fist) variation seen in other classic fighting games Ryu appears in.
