Ryu
Hadō Kakusei (波動・覚醒?, lit. Surge Awakening) is Ryu's new Hyper Combo in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This Hyper Combo signifies Ryu tapping into the Power of Nothingness, the power of light that is the opposite of the Satsui no Hado, the power of darkness that is used mainly by Akuma, and which also turns Ryu into Evil Ryu in the Street Fighter series. During this Hyper Combo, the Shinku Tatsumaki Senpukyaku becomes the Shin Tatsumaki Senpukyaku which causes more damage and the vacuum effect has more range; and the Shinku Hadoken becomes Shin Hadoken which can bounce off the walls and causes more damage. This hyper increases the damage for Shin Shoryuken. This Hyper also makes Ryu slightly faster, while also draining his green lifebar into a red lifebar.

Trivia[]
- Shin Hadoken bears a resemblance to Ryu's Denjin Hadoken, such as Electric-based projectiles. Except that Shin Hadoken requires no charge before this damage properties is carried to Denjin Hadoken's damage properties on Street Fighter V.
- Shin Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku bears a resemblance to Ryu's Boufuu Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku from Pocket Fighter:
- There are unused voice files founded in the (Ultimate) Marvel vs. Capcom 3 game folder, which were meant to be the names used during Hado Kakusei:
- Denjin Hadoken instead of “Shin Hadoken”, due to being an electric-based projectile.
- Super Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku instead of “Shin Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku”, due to the “Super” name is somewhat a bit similar to “Boufuu” and being a storm-infused Shinkuu Tatsumaki.
- Metsu Shoryuken, due to being simply a variation on the Shin Shoryuken. Although this move can only be applied when Ryu succumbed to Dark Hadou at 25% Health in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite without Hado Kakusei, due to the boost move’s exclusion from the said latest MvC game.
