State of... Issue 1
Welcome to State of... #1! A new semi-regular blog series where I'll be going over the state of the wiki and the games whenever I can, as well as detail projects we should try and focus on! First let me apologize for my absence these last few days, classes have been kicking my ass. Hopefully I'll be able to update more regularly this week!
Now, let's give this a try!
So, the wiki is still a bit of a mess. I plan on drafting up some policies regarding character pages and such. Once we have those up to par, I'm thinking we need to give the moves another pass, just to ensure that all the info we're providing is accurate.
If you have any opinions on how these should be handled please let me know. I'm thinking we keep the multiple page format for the characters, with a main general info page more focused on their backgrounds and info from their original series and then the individual game pages with gameplay and story info from those game they appear in.

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Capcom Cup Players
A few months ago, there was a vote to determine eight players that will play it out in the Capcom Cup in December 14. People could vote only 3 players out of a possible 17 suggested or an unknown player of their own choosing who they think is the hypest to watch. The votes are in for the 8 players who will participate in the Capcom Cup. They are:

Additionally, Capcom announced a FT5 with EVO 2013 Champion, EMP|Flocker. The winner will get $1000 prize money and the title of Capcom Cup holder.

With E3 looming, lots of rumours are coming out with a new MvC4 or new fighting game
Capcom has recently announced a variety of games to be announced. No fighting games but a surprise has been announced that will be revealed next week in E3. Perhaps a new MvC? Or maybe the Darkstalkers 4

First off I would like to say thanks! This wiki really change since it started. All I can say is keep it up. Now everyone knows that Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is still on its way. What does that mean? We are not done! As long as there are more news and changes its our duty to let our readers know. Just want to put in some things out before ending this

Ok, First and foremost I would like to thank all wikia contributor whether they are actual members or anons, for contributing and editting this wikia and making it more appealing. With Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 launching in 3 weeks people are getting hectic and with more and more news coming out this wikia is also being flooded with it. But I would also like to address some issues that needs to be fixed.
1.Please Remember this is a Marvel Vs. Capcom wiki, not a Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 wiki. Some characters that were in previous titles and are now in MvC3 no longer have any information from their previous versions. In other words, its best to make a different page of that same character for the proper game. For example, Jill Valentine has been confirmed to be DLC for MvC3 but if someone would want to read informations about her in MvC2 like gamestyle,move set, etc. They no longer can't since its been ommited to fit in for the MvC 3 article. Newest Character Reveal
Akuma and Taskmaster has been confirmed early on Monday, January 17th. While Akuma is a veteran to the Marvel Vs. Capcom series its not surprise he plays similar to other previous games. Some of his special/hypers have been changed slightly.Taskmaster on the other hand is new to the series. Equipped with a sword,shield and a bow to boot. he plays different from others but also similar to other characters. Its not surprising since he is known to copy character's ability just by watching them.

Release date February 15, 2010 (Updates)
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is set to be released in the U.S.A on February 15th. A month away the fans are getting excited and can't wait to open that game and pop the disk in. So far 34 characters (The two recent ones being Phoenix and Haggar) have been confirmed in the game and a couple more shall be revealed before the release day. Capcom has already established some features this game will have. Trying to appeal to a much broader audience they feature "simple mode" where the control schemes are much easier and activating specials/hyper combos will be much easier to the new people to this franchise .
Some of this features will be the License Card system. This will give players information on other players online and will inform them on how their battle style is,how much points and more. Other small feature is the game memorizing which characters you use often and assist types you select.

Viewtiful Joe and Dormammu Added
The characters Viewtiful Joe and Dormammu have been added into the game. Other characters to be included are Joe's girlfriend, Silvia, when Joe uses a super move and Teisel and Tron Bonne (at the very least in the background). Are you guys excited about these new additions?
New Main Page Design
The main page design has been updated in order to hopefully attract more editors on this Wiki. Also, this News feature makes it easy for anyone who wants to add any news about the Marvel vs. Capcom Series to the main page.
