Training Room is a recurring stage in the series, often serving as the default stage for the games' Training Modes.

Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter[]

Training Mode stage

The PlayStation port of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter is the first game in the series to debut a unique Training Room. This stage is extremely basic, consisting of a solid purple floor against a black background.

This stage is exclusive to the PlayStation version and can only be seen/played in its Training Mode.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2[]

Training Room MvC2

Training Room

The Training Room returns as one of the stages in Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. While still a simple stage, its much more visually appealing than its predecessor. The Training Room is set in a holographic room with blue grids on the floor and green grids on the walls. The grids on the walls are convex going up, giving the stage a circular or domed look.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3[]

Training Room in Marvel vs. Capcom 3

The Training Room returns mostly unchanged in both Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. In the former, the stage is under the name Danger Room. However, in the latter, the stage was renamed to its proper name so that way players would avoid confusion with the Danger Room being a regular stage. The green wall grids now go straight up, giving the stage a cylindrical look. The stage presents several new elements in the background, coming from its alternative version the Danger Room: it features the same floor with an "X" symbol and the same ceiling holding a large machine also branded with an "X". At times green screen displays with "X" on them appear and disappear from the background as well.

These elements indicate the stage is actually a holographic construct set inside the Danger Room itself and makes this the only Capcom stage found inside a Marvel location.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite[]

Training Room Infinite

Unknown - Training Chamber

The Training Room returns in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, under the name Unknown - Training Chamber. The stage is a spacious circular room barren of features. It consists of a metallic floor and entirely white walls crossed over by several pillars. Both walls and floor show a squared grid design.

The stage appears to be based on training rooms as seen in some of Marvel's works, mainly the one in the Avengers' Mansion on The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010-2013).

Trivia[]

  • X-Men vs. Street Fighter (which debuted a Training Mode for the series on its PlayStation port) and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes don't feature a Training Mode-exclusive stage of their own, with the former having a random stage chosen and the latter reusing the final boss stage (on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch of the Arcade Collection) or letting the player choose one of the normal stages (on Dreamcast).
